Zooplus, headquartered in Munich, announced Alejandro Bethlen as new Chief Merchandising Officer and Jim Cruickshank as new Chief Product Officer. Both men are also part of the executive committe.
Alejandro Bethlen comes from the online flower delivery serice The Bouqs Company where he worked as CEO. He has many years of international experience in leading positions across different industries like fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) and e-commerce. Bethlen has worked for well-known companies like serving as General Manager AmazonFlex Europe & Asia.
At Zooplus, Bethlen will monitor the development of the company’s brand portfolio, distributor relationships, and sourcing. Furthermore, he shall improve the company’s position as supplier in Europe.
Jim Cruickshank will be responsible for the company’s product portfolio and the transformation of the platform improving the user experience contentrating on customers focus.
Before joining Zooplus, Cruickshank worked as was VP of Global Digital Development & Retail Technology at the jewelry business Pandora. He can look back on over 20 years of experience in digital product leadership an management. Not least, among his former jobs are the positions of the Global Director of Digital Product & UX at Marks & Spencer and leading the teams of Bing, MSN Shopping, and Travel as Director of Product Management at Microsoft.
According to CEO Geoffroy Lefebvre, the new engagements will push the growth of Zooplus and establish it as the “leading pet eCommerce platform” in Europe.
