FEDIAF, the European Pet Food Industry, has named Sonia Franck as its new Secretary General, a strategic move to capitalize on her wealth of experience for the industry’s ongoing growth and overall prosperity.

Expressing her gratitude for the appointment, Franck remarked, “I am honored to have been appointed by FEDIAF and am looking forward to immersing myself in the pet industry and engaging with members. I am keen to further strengthen FEDIAF’s reputation as the leading authority in the European pet food sector.”

Before joining FEDIAF, Franck held the position of Secretary General at IML Innovative Medicines Luxembourg, where she played a pivotal role in reshaping the association. Her accomplishments included formulating a new five-year strategy, revamping the association’s management structure, diversifying revenue streams, and elevating the visibility of IML.

Rosa Carbonell, President of FEDIAF, conveyed excitement about Franck’s addition to the team, stating, “We are thrilled to have Sonia join our ranks. Her outstanding track record, coupled with her passion for pets, aligns perfectly with FEDIAF’s mission. Sonia’s expertise will be instrumental as FEDIAF continues its journey of collaboration with authorities, regulators and academics to ensure Europeans have continued access to safe, nutritious and high-quality pet food.”

Franck now stands alongside other key figures in FEDIAF’s leadership, including Alice Tempel Costa (Deputy Secretary General and Technical Director), Aleksandra Prandota (EU Policy and Regulatory Affairs Manager), and James Ramsay (Public Affairs and Strategic Communications Manager).

Highlighting the strength of the team, Carbonell emphasized, “With this robust team in place, FEDIAF is poised for continued success in representing the pet food industry throughout Europe.”
