According to petfoodindustry, a team of Russian researchers from Izhevsk State Medical Academy (IGMA) has developed the world’s first pet food with anti-aging properties, confirmed by a preliminary study. The pet food contains geroprotective substances like epigallocatechin gallate, curcumin, and resveratrol, which regulate molecular pathways linked to aging. Initial field trials on domestic cats showed positive results, including improved blood parameters and molecular markers associated with longevity. The product is already available in Russia, with plans for refinement and export by 2025, focusing on enhancing its geroprotective effects further.
