On 6 December, the Placek Group has opened its first 24/7 self-service Super Zoo pet store in Týn nad Vltavou (150 km from Prague). Pet owners now get the possibility to buy any supplies without being dependent from usual opening hours. There are plans to open more Super Zoo 24/7 stores in other European cities.
The new store concept is another reason why Super Zoo is Czech market leader in pet supply. Owner and founder, Dusan Placek, says, “At Super zoo we try hard to achieve the best customer experience. Next to all assortment innovations, we focus on digitalisation and customer service as well. We set the trend in the pet supplies business.”
The familiy enterprise was founded in 1986 and has developed to one of the main players of pet supply in Europe. The Group owns more than 320 retail stores in four East European countries with 500 employees. Through wholesale, the Placek Group serves over 1,000 customers across 20 different countries.
The new 24/7 Super Zoo joins the other services such nasyptesi sales (unpacked granulate), in-store grooming salons, in-store vet and many more offered by the company.
The payment service provider Mastercard cooperated in the implementation of the project. Michal Carny, CEO of Mastercard for the Czech Republic and Slovakia, which supported in the project, stated: “As a technology company, we are constantly trying to advance the entire payment and shopping process so that it is as comfortable, user-friendly, fast and, above all, safe as possible for the customers. I am very happy that we share a common vision with our partners and are gradually presenting the future of shopping not only in Prague, but also in other regional cities.”
