Niels Malling Laursen has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of Process Integration (PI), a provider of processing solutions for markets including pet food and aqua feed. Malling Laursen’s role will be crucial in supporting PI’s substantial growth. Established in 2015 by Sti Løvgreen and Lars Johansen, PI specializes in the construction, maintenance, and enhancement of processing facilities. The company takes a comprehensive approach to their operations, offering services like plant and process design, project management, process engineering, equipment supply, and installation.

PI has recently witnessed a surge in growth, expanding into additional industries beyond its original focus on aqua feed and pet food. The company is now active in sustainable protein, as well as the liquid food and beverage sectors. “Throughout our journey over the past 8 years, it has been crucial for Sti and me that we have grown at a pace that the organization can keep up with,” Johansen stated. “We have listened to our customers and have consistently focused on providing the service they need. Initially, it was primarily fish feed and pet food factories that we serviced, but today we have just as many projects in food production and other industries, and the scale of the projects we receive is often larger than before. The demand for our in-house capabilities has led us to establish a robust engineering department.”

In response to this growth and their international expansion plans, PI has strengthened its leadership team. Malling Laursen brings extensive experience from the dairy and meat processing sectors, having served as an independent consultant and director of various food companies. He has been associated with PI for the past year and expressed his enthusiasm for contributing to the company’s advancement. “Of course, it required some consideration to accept the CEO role while retaining the position as head of the project department,” Malling Laursen said. “However, I possess a deep understanding of the company, and with such a strong and positive team, I am genuinely thrilled to contribute to taking the company to the next level.”

Additionally, Kurt Myhlert Olsen has been appointed as the head of administration, human resources, and finance. Myhlert Olsen brings expertise in financial management and administration from the dairy processing industry, along with project management experience. He previously worked as an independent consultant in financial advisory.

“We are very focused on knowing what solutions are available on the market and how they can be best implemented to maximize all value streams, ensuring customers get the optimal benefit, whether they need to replace a single part or optimize energy,” Løvgreen emphasized. “We are now so well equipped that we can build complete process lines.

“It is a great asset for us to have Niels as CEO; he has extensive knowledge of process facilities and project management,” he continued. “Kurt also brings significant experience and has been a valuable addition to the group, as we understand the importance of taking good care of our employees and running a healthy company.”
