China’s pet industry now has access to a novel global supply chain platform crafted exclusively for them by the Pet Industry Working Committee of the China Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Association.

Dubbed Pet Sourcing China (PSC), this platform aims to aid Chinese pet companies in venturing into overseas markets by orchestrating international trade exhibitions within China and dispatching delegations to similar events abroad. PSC also seeks to foster knowledge exchange among Chinese pet industry professionals and their international counterparts. For those companies eyeing international expansion, PSC offers a suite of services including guidance on import and export policies, international standard certification, market insights, media promotion, and talent consulting.

Chen Yang, chairman of the Pet Industry Working Committee and president of the China Pet Association, emphasized the collaborative efforts of industry leaders such as Petty Holdings, Zhongpet Holdings, and Yiyi Holdings in establishing PSC. With backing from over 10 prominent Chinese pet companies, including Boyu Group and Sensen Group, PSC was officially launched last December.

PSC’s inaugural international pet fair is slated to be held in Guangzhou, China in November 2024. Throughout the year, PSC plans to dispatch representatives of Chinese pet companies to partake in trade shows overseas, facilitating market identification and collaboration with importers and retailers in target export markets.

“We aim for PSC to provide effective support for Chinese companies looking to expand their products, factories, and brands internationally,” said Yang. In 2024, PSC will focus on establishing connections with buyers from emerging pet markets in Southeast Asia, South America, the Middle East, and Russia, with a particular emphasis on cross-border e-commerce and channel distribution agents in lower-tier markets.

The PSC Pet Fair in Guangzhou anticipates over 500 exhibitors and 2,000 international visitors from more than 30 countries. The event will feature dedicated exhibition areas for e-commerce and supply chain, raw materials and additives, business startups, green packaging materials, and pet fashion design.
