Giorgio Massoni, current general manager at Sanypet-Forza10, was elected president at the Italian Association for Pet Feeding and Care (ASSALCO). Succeeding Gianmarco Ferrari, Massoni will hold this position until 2026.
“It’s an honor and a responsibility to pick up Gianmarco Ferrari’s baton after a long presidency in which our sector has achieved truly important results. Together with the new Board of Directors, we will continue with commitment and passion the path started these recent years,” stated Giorgio Massoni.
His focus is to improve communication between the pet industry and the authorities, veterinaries and institutions that look after pets health.
According to reports from Zoomark and ASSALCO, the sales of cat and dog food constituted €2.5 billion ($2.7B) last year, an increase of 8.4% compared to the previous year.
Starting his career at Royal Canin in Milano 1998, Massoni worked for several big players in the pet industry such as Nestlé Purina Petcare, Monge and Agrifarma. In January this year, he took the position as General Manager at Sanypet to boost the company’s dog food brand.
