THE PACK, a dog food brand, has unveiled its inaugural dry dog food formula, staying true to its plant-based philosophy and enriching it with functional ingredients for overall canine well-being. While initially focused on plant-based wet dog food upon its launch in 2021, THE PACK’s positive consumer feedback has spurred this foray into the dry dog food sector.

Employing a slow baking method at low temperatures, THE PACK preserves ingredients, flavor, and nutritional value in its dry dog food, setting it apart from conventional extrusion cooking techniques.

In collaboration with a pet food expert and nutritionist, THE PACK’s new dry dog food is composed entirely of plant-based elements, including dried sweet potato, pumpkin, apple, green peas, spinach, tomato, beetroot, dried cranberry, blueberry, as well as botanicals, herbs, peanut butter, oats, and olive oil. The formula is replete with crucial vitamins and minerals such as A, C, B6, and E, along with essential nutrients like potassium, calcium, iron, beta carotene, and folate, addressing the needs of skin, coat, eyes, nerves, muscles, and immune function. Furthermore, it features algae oil for Omega 3 fatty acids and pre- and postbiotics for digestive health.

“This is Europe’s first vegan, nutritionally complete, oven-baked dried food and a groundbreaking advancement in the palatability of dried plant-based food for dogs,” said co-founder Damien Clarkson. “We’ve spent over a year working with nutrition and taste experts refining this recipe and have included post and prebiotics to help enrich the dog’s gut microbiome.

“Seeing this product outperform meat in taste tests has been incredibly exciting and when we sent sample bags to our existing customers 96% responded saying they will be buying the food,” he continued.

The dry formula also incorporates five primary sources of plant-based protein, supplying around 25 grams of protein per 100 grams of food. It introduces a novel strain of fermented rye to bolster canine microbiome health. With a digestibility rate exceeding 93%, the food guarantees that dogs receive abundant protein, nutrients, and vital fatty acids.

On September 1st, THE PACK initiated pre-orders for the new dry dog food, offering consumers an exclusive 30% discount for a limited time. The formula is slated for an official market launch later this year.
