In 2023, Taiwan’s pet food sales reached NT$30.8 billion (US$960 million), accounting for half of the country’s pet industry value. The nation’s pet population, including 1.48 million dogs and 1.31 million cats, has seen substantial growth since 2021. Liu I-chen from the Taiwan Institute of Economic Research expects this trend to continue, with pet food as the biggest expenditure and supplements growing rapidly.

Meanwhile, Poland’s Perro is expanding its grain-free dog food range and preparing for international sales. In the Czech Republic, Vafo Group opened the first showroom for its Carnilove brand, while also expanding internationally with the acquisition of Austria’s PetCo GmbH.
