Mérieux NutriSciences, a subsidiary of Institut Mérieux, has agreed to acquire the food testing business of Bureau Veritas for €360 million ($393.4 million USD). This acquisition will enhance Mérieux NutriSciences’ global presence, expanding its operations to 32 countries and doubling its footprint in Canada and the Asia Pacific region. CEO Nicolas Cartier emphasized that the deal strengthens their ability to ensure food safety, quality, and sustainability worldwide. The acquisition includes Bureau Veritas’ food testing services, covering 34 labs and 1,900 staff across 15 countries. The transaction is expected to close by the end of Q4 2024.
