On 11 December, ePac Flexible Packaging announced its plans to build a new sales and production facility in Sheffield, UK. CPG brands, also in pet food, across Scotland, Ireland and Northern Ireland will be supplied by the new „ePac Sheffield“. The new facility supports the company’s current operations in Silverstone as well as pushes the expansion across Europe.

“Since opening our first European plant in Silverstone in December 2019, we’ve grown steadily, not only in the UK but in regions across Europe,” stated Europe’s managing director Johnny Hobeika. “Our new sales and manufacturing location in Sheffield will get us even closer to our local and regional brands, as well as larger brands with a pan-European or global presence.”

The company runs factories in France, Poland and lately in one in Austria. In order to link all facilities, the company has established its own cloud-based technology ePacONE (One Network Everywhere).

“We have recently launched ePacONE, a proprietary cloud-based system that connects all 24 ePac locations across the globe, enabling our customers to have their jobs produced at scale, when they’re needed, where they’re needed,” Hobeika added. “Additionally, with ePacConnect, our connected packaging solution, brands can discover new ways to enhance their communication with consumers.”

ePac’s aim is also to support sustainability and develop a circular packaging economy. In order to minimize packaging waste, the company only needs 5 to 15 days to execute an order and utilizes sustainable materials and and environmentally friendly printing process. The enterprise is already carbon neutral.
