Pet care division of Heristo Aktiengesellschaft Saturn Petcare has started a R&D initiative in China aiming to follow its international strategy.
The Bremen-based private label has 1,000 employees and records annual sales of more than 2 million consumer units. The pet care business owns two plants (Bremen and Hattem (Netherlands)) and opened another one in the USA in 2021.
The initiative was started after the Chinese company Pet Ideal has agreed on a cooperation with Saturn Petcare. The company intends to increase its competitiveness in the Chinese market.
“The Chinese pet food market holds considerable strategic significance for us,” said Christian Schröder, CEO of Heristo’s pet care division and member of the Heristo board of Directors.
