The latest report from Mexico’s Federal Consumer Protection Agency (PROFECO) evaluated 41 dry dog food brands, focusing on nutritional content, ingredient quality, digestibility, and label accuracy. High-scoring brands, including Royal Canin, Eukanuba, Hill’s Science Diet, Purina Pro Plan, Kirkland Signature (Nature’s Domain), and Member’s Mark, met AAFCO and NOM standards for essential nutrients and label transparency. However, 15 brands fell short, with discrepancies in protein levels, fiber content, and net weights. PROFECO advised pet owners to choose brands that comply with these nutritional standards and maintain transparency, highlighting Member’s Mark as a budget-friendly, quality option.
