A study by the Private Label Manufacturers Association (PLMA) found out, that European customers will stick to their new „pandemic“ shopping behaviour. The pandemic has intensly impaired the consumerism of food and non-food products.
The results show that customers preferrably bought private label products than branded products. 3 out of 10 respondents agreed that they buy more private label products than before the pandemic. Among the younger respondents, Generation Z and Millennials, the popularity of private label products is greatest. Four in ten even claimed they would buy more in private label products in the next two years.
The online survey out of more than 50 questions, exclusively for PLMA International, was undertaken by 6,500 participants from eight countries : France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom.
