On September 29, Mars, Incorporated confirmed the successful acquisition of SYNLAB Vet from SYNLAB Group. SYNLAB Vet is now integrated into Mars Petcare’s Science & Diagnostics division.
Nefertiti Greene, the President of Mars Science & Diagnostics, expressed enthusiasm about welcoming SYNLAB Vet to their division. “We are excited to welcome SYNLAB Vet to our division and look forward to working together in service of our purpose: A BETTER WORLD FOR PETS™. Together we will support more veterinary professionals and pets in Europe with a full diagnostics portfolio across reference laboratories, point-of-care, imaging and technology solutions, rapid diagnostics, telemedicine and software solutions and services.”
The addition of SYNLAB Vet significantly strengthens Mars Petcare’s veterinary laboratory operations in Europe and extends their global veterinary diagnostic platform. This comprehensive platform encompasses laboratories, point-of-care solutions, imaging, and software, as outlined by Mars.
The acquisition, initially disclosed on August 14, was contingent on regulatory approval.
Greene stated during the original acquisition announcement, “We look forward to welcoming SYNLAB Vet to the Mars Petcare family of businesses. We share the belief that excellence in veterinary diagnostics and advanced technology is transformative for veterinary care.“
She further stated, “This transaction complements our existing diagnostics enterprise and extends our reach across Europe, advancing our mission to create A BETTER WORLD FOR PETS™.”
