Referring to a previous post, Kormotech, a Ukrainian pet food company, has commenced construction on its second facility in Lithuania, investing €60 million ($63 million USD) to expand its European market presence. The new 19,500-square-meter factory in the Kėdainiai Free Economic Zone will triple production capacity in Lithuania to 60,000 tonnes annually, with 61% of the company’s total wet food production set to occur there. Chairman and co-owner Rostyslav Vovk highlighted Lithuania’s strategic location and supportive business environment as key factors in the expansion. The project will create 200 additional jobs, and Andreea Moraru of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) praised the move as a testament to Ukrainian business resilience. Kormotech aims to strengthen its global market position, targeting a spot among the top 30 pet food companies worldwide.
