The German pet food manufacturer Josera will build a new factory in Paproć investing about PLN 278 million (US$70 million). The company, focussing on wet and dry food for dogs and cats, pet treats and accessories, already owns a facility in Paproć and wants to offer 60 new jobs at the plant.

Since the new production site is located in Poland’s Kostrzyn-Slubice special economic zone (KSSEZ), one of 14 special economic zones across the country, the company benefits from special advantaged tax treamtent. Therefore, Josera needs to employ a several number of people, plus to invest a defined amount of money in expansion.

Josera has about 500 employees in Germany and about 100 working in Poland about 125km from the border to Germany. The new project will be executed by Joseras local subsidiary that is responsible for the Polish market since 1999.

“We export to more than 60 countries across the world,“ Josera stated. The company mainly exports to countries in Western and Eastern Europe, China, South Korea, Turkey, India, Indonesia and Chile. The company currently provides its products to 1.2 million pets each year, but aims to increase this number to 2 million.
