Jollyes, the UK pet store chain, has unveiled plans to open new outlets in Belfast, Newport, and Rotherham ahead of Easter, along with the launch of a fresh distribution center in Middlewich in the second week of February. Teaming up with Wincanton, the new distribution center aims to boost efficiency by handling up to 25% more cases annually, catering to over 10,000 consignments for all Jollyes branches.

These three upcoming stores signify a significant achievement for Jollyes, surpassing the 100-store milestone for the first time. Opening dates are slated for 23 February for Belfast Connswater in Northern Ireland, 1 March for Newport in Gwent, and 22 March for Rotherham in South Yorkshire. Jollyes has been on an expansion spree, doubling branch sizes and introducing 34 new stores since the start of 2022. The Newport store, set to open on St. David’s Day (1 March), will mark the 100th in the chain.

Jollyes reported strong business performance over the Christmas season, boasting a 13% increase in like-for-like sales during the five weeks leading up to 31 December. Overall growth during this period reached an impressive 25%. The final week before Christmas witnessed the retailer’s most robust seven-day trading period ever, with an almost 45% surge in customers compared to the previous year and a 26% rise on a like-for-like basis.
