João Marcelo Gomes has ascended to the role of President for Kemin Animal Nutrition and Health’s EMENA (Europe, Middle East, and North Africa) sector, succeeding the former EMENA President, Stefaan Van Dyck, Ph.D., who has been elevated to the position of Group President overseeing the global division.

Having joined the company in 2019 as the President of Kemin Animal Nutrition and Health South America, Gomes further assumed the role of President of Kemin Food Technologies EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) in 2023. Armed with a veterinary degree from the Universidade Federal Rural of Rio De Janeiro, Gomes brings nearly three decades of expertise in sales, marketing, and business development to his newfound position.

In this latest capacity, Gomes will leverage his extensive background to fortify Kemin Animal Nutrition and Health’s sustained expansion efforts within the EMENA market.

As the Group President of Kemin Animal Nutrition and Health, Stefaan Van Dyck will oversee global growth initiatives for the segment. His appointment follows G.S. Ramesh, who will redirect his focus to two emerging Kemin units – Kemin AquaScience and Kemin Biologics – concentrating on the aquaculture and animal vaccine spaces.

Expressing his anticipation for the new role, Gomes remarked, “I’m eager to join the EMENA region and work together to continue the team’s success, execute Kemin’s growth strategy, and take the business to the next level. Over the past few years, Kemin has invested significantly in the EMENA region with new production sites, innovative technologies, and local experts supporting customers. In the upcoming years, we will continue to focus our efforts on feed efficiency, feed protection, animal productivity, and cost reduction — all while investing in efficiency and progress toward net zero greenhouse gas emissions.”
