At the Consumer Analyst Group of New York (CAGNY) 2023 Conference in Boca Raton from 20-24 February, the US food processing company General Mills announced the expansion of its brand Blue Buffalo to China. The brand shall be brought to other countries as well in next year.
Asia’s fast growing pet food industry attracts US and European pet food producers at the same time. General Mills has now taken the opportunity to tap the full potential.
The company has also stated that its pet sector is General Mills‘ “fastest-growing” area, fourfolding the supply in the US and doubling the households using its product since 2018.
According to the company’s plans, the Blue Buffalo brand will be extended with a “renovation and innovation” on the Wilderness dry dog food line, plus the development of a new line of Blue Buffalo dog food. Moreover, General Mills strives for a remanufacturing of natural pet treats portfolio and the expansion oft he cat feed line Tastefuls.
