The Fressnapf Group is continuing its expansion in Europe by acquiring Jumper Group. At the time of purchase, Jumper had 47 self-owned stores, three franchise markets, and 19 shop-in-shops.

After merging with Arcaplanet in Italy, investing in Zoocity in Croatia, and recently entering the Romanian market, the expansion into the Netherlands signifies the next strategic move for the company. Fressnapf/Maxi Zoo now has a presence in 14 European countries with over 2,000 stores.

As Europe’s leading pet supply provider, the acquisition of Jumper positions Fressnapf as the second-largest specialist retailer for pet supplies in the Netherlands, effective retrospectively from January 1, 2023, further strengthening its foothold in Europe. Fressnapf owner Torsten Toeller expresses, “The acquisition of Jumper Group is strategically crucial for Fressnapf. Jumper has exceptional staff and stores nationwide. We’re entering a highly developed and growing pet market with a volume of 1.7 billion euros, and we aim for substantial growth. Additionally, we believe our omnichannel ecosystem strategy will prove successful in the Netherlands.”

Former owner of Jumper, Kees Vierhouten, comments, “We take great pride in Jumper’s growth and success. The vision and values of the Fressnapf Group align perfectly with ours. Jumper now has the opportunity to realize its significant ambitions in a thriving Dutch market alongside Fressnapf.”
