The American food processing firm ADM has build a new factory in Valencia in order to produce probiotics, postbiotics and other products for human and animal alimentation.

Supplying North America, EMEA and APAC regions, the facility caused costs of more than $30 million (€28.5M) and made an increase of production capacity to 50 tons possible for ADM. The facility is located next to the company’s R&D centre at the University of Valencia Scientific Park. ADM assumes that the new factory is the only one worldwide producing probiotics and postbiotics at the same time.

The company intends to increase the health and wellness sales to $2 billion (€1.87B) in the next 10 years compated to $500 million (€467M) last year. The animal nutrion range has though declined by $16 million ($14.9M).
