The pet food producer United Petfood has just revealed its plan to acquire Cargill’s factories in Krzepice, Poland, and Karcag, Hungary which produce pet food.
Cargill is a provider of food, agriculture, industrial and financial products and services operating in 70 countries across the world.
Although United Pet Food has acquired those two plants, focussed on manufacturing dry cat and dog food, Cargill will remain owner of its pet food brands and present them in its portfolio.
According to Cargill, “United Petfood, which has extensive operational experience in the production of pet food, combined with its commitment and investment in people, is well suited to the future that this business requires”.
The two new production facilities brings the number of United Pet Food’s facilities to 21, located in 9 different countries. The acquisition contributes to the company’s strategy of expanding the business.
