Snellman Group has announced plans to build a new pet food facility in Pedersöre, Finland, to address the increasing demand for raw pet food. According to Magnus Pettersson, director of Snellman Petfood, the factory will play a key role in scaling up production and expanding exports, particularly within the Nordic region and other European markets. The facility will incorporate energy-efficient systems, such as heat exchangers that repurpose excess heat, and advanced freezing technology to preserve product quality. Snellman’s raw pet food division, which includes the MUSH brand, has seen significant growth as more pet owners opt for natural nutrition. Pending permit approval, construction is expected to commence in summer 2025.
