Nestlé reported robust growth in its Purina Petcare division, with sales reaching CHF 9.45 billion ($10.74 billion USD) in the first half of 2024, up from CHF 9.37 billion ($10.64 billion USD) the previous year. This growth was fueled by premium brands like Purina Pro Plan, Fancy Feast, and Purina ONE, alongside a 6.7% increase in trading operating profit to CHF 2.07 billion ($2.35 billion USD). Purina was the top growth contributor in North America and achieved significant gains in Greater China. Despite a slight deceleration in the Petcare category post-COVID, Nestlé sees strong long-term potential due to rising pet populations and a growing pet-human bond. Overall, the company expects at least 3% organic sales growth for 2024, with total sales for the first half of the year reaching CHF 45 billion ($51.1 billion USD)
