Nestlé Purina PetCare has announced a five-year partnership with the University of California, Davis, School of Veterinary Medicine to advance research on urinary tract health in pets. Supported by an annual grant of up to $200,000, the collaboration will focus on the relationship between diet, environmental factors, and urinary conditions, particularly urinary stones in dogs and cats. The funding will support the G.V. Ling Urinary Stone Analysis Laboratory, providing free stone analysis to veterinary practitioners and driving research into conditions like urolithiasis and feline idiopathic cystitis. This partnership strengthens UC Davis’s role in veterinary urology and nutrition research.
