On 24 May, Musti Group has announced that the pet food factory Premium Pet Food Suomi Oy in Lieto, Finland has obtained certifications for food safety and environmental sustainability.
The group has just purchased the whole facility (from 49.2%) in April in order to make up the ownership of the business. It has now received the Food Safety System Certification (FSSC) 22000 and the ISO 14001 environmental certification which are both fully voluntary.
„We want to offer pets domestic, high-quality and safe food,” stated Emmi Riihikoski, quality and new product development manager at Premium Pet Food Suomi Oy. “The certificates complement our long-standing commitment to quality assurance and environmental awareness. I would like to thank the entire factory staff for their commitment to these values and to the certification project.”
After recognizing the rising demand of locally and sustainably produced pet food products, Musti Group has fully acquired the facility since all ingredients are mainly sourced from local producers.
