Mars, Incorporated has launched major partnerships to expand regenerative agriculture practices across its European pet nutrition supply chain. Collaborating with suppliers like Cargill and ADM, as well as technical experts such as Biospheres and Horta, the initiative incentivizes farmers in Poland, Hungary, and the UK to adopt practices like crop rotation, minimal tillage, and cover cropping. These efforts aim to improve soil health, boost biodiversity, and cut greenhouse gas emissions while strengthening the supply chain’s resilience.
Key projects include carbon sequestration programs in Poland, data-driven farming in Hungary, and wheat transition initiatives in the UK. Mars will monitor progress through robust verification systems, aligning with its broader climate goals, including achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. This initiative builds on Mars’ global efforts to decarbonize its supply chain, with similar regenerative projects underway in North America.
