According to a recent announcement, Lowe’s and Petco will expand their existing partnership of store-in-store concepts. The expansion shall bring the number of Lowe’s stores with a Petco assortment from 15 to 300. Next to DIY products, customers will be offered access to pet requisites and veterinary care. The companies intend to concentrate on rural areas across the country.

“Our first pilot programme with Petco went down well with our shoppers and brought new customers into Lowe’s,” tells Bill Boltz, executive vice-president of merchandising at Lowe’s. “By expanding our store-in-store presence, we offer more tailored products and services to meet the particular needs of our customers in rural and remote regions and to optimise the shopping experience,” he continues. The products imply both Petco own brands and national brands.

In order to offer vaccinations, microchipping and preventive medicine, the Vetco clinics from Petco, operated by qualified veterinarians, will open once a month in 75 Lowe’s stores.
