Indian start-up Loopworm has achieved EU Traces certification, authorizing its silkworm pupae-derived ingredients for pet and animal nutrition to be supplied in the European Union. This milestone highlights the company’s commitment to sustainable insect-based nutrition, supported by its GMP+, ISO 22000, and HACCP certified facility with a 6,000 metric tonne annual capacity. Loopworm’s innovative offerings include silkworm pupae meal concentrate, Omega 3,6,9 flavor oil, and whole dried silkworms, catering to various animals from reptiles to ornamental fish. Co-founder and CEO Ankit Alok Bagaria confirmed ongoing discussions with pet food companies eager to adopt these sustainable ingredients.
