KM Packaging has introduced K-Nature Paper HBe, a high-barrier paper-based packaging that is curbside recyclable and serves as an alternative to flexible plastic packaging. The material consists of over 85% paper combined with a polyethylene coating and EVOH barrier, ensuring both durability and recyclability. Andrzej Kukula, KM Packaging’s technical and product development manager, highlighted that the innovation meets consumer demand for sustainable alternatives while maintaining performance similar to plastic. The packaging solution is compatible with existing equipment and can be used in various food packaging applications, including flow wraps and pouches. Kukula emphasized that Paper HBe sets a new industry standard, proving that paper-based solutions can effectively replace plastic without sacrificing functionality.
