As reported in an article by the Irish Farmers Journal, C&D Foods, the pet food division of ABP Food Group, is investing €48 million in its Co Longford manufacturing facility, leading to a 25% capacity increase.
Supported by Enterprise Ireland, the investment will generate 100 new jobs in engineering, operations, supply chain, and quality assurance. An additional 100 jobs will be created during the construction phase. The expansion focuses on automated multi-packing and pouch-filling lines, aligning with the growing trend of single-serve meals for smaller companion pets in Europe.
C&D Foods aims to maintain its position in the pet food market and contribute to local economic development. The investment is seen as a positive reflection on the Irish food sector by Enterprise Ireland. C&D Foods currently employs 500 staff in Ireland and 1,400 across Europe
