Protix, a Netherlands-based supplier of insect ingredients for feed and food, recently unveiled the results of a life cycle assessment conducted by the German Institute of Food Technologies. The assessment revealed remarkable reductions in CO2 emissions across Protix’s product line, with insect meal from the black soldier fly cutting emissions by 78% compared to poultry meal. Additionally, Protix’s Lipid X insect fat and Puree X insect meat demonstrated significant reductions in land and water use, respectively, further solidifying Protix’s commitment to sustainable protein production.
