At the International Pet Conference in Bologna, Fressnapf’s senior vice president, Heiko Bücker, held a presentation depicting the pet industry situation: “2022 has new challenges: a new economic environment is evolving – cloudy or stormy times ahead.”

Despite of the current situation, the company could reach a 15% growth in four of its markets and celebrated the opening of 63 stores. The company recorded the biggest growth in Poland (50.1%), followed by Ireland (44,5%) and France (25%). In Germany, Fressnapf sales only increased by 3.1%.

These increases are related to the company’s online trade and new stores while the in-store sales increases rise far more slowly.
