The American pet food business Freshpet has presented its new appointments for management roles.

Christopher Kraus assumes the role of CIO at the company. He has formerly served as CIO for the consulting company Golden Touch Group holding 20 years of technology experience.

Wyatt Hassel, previously working as General Manager at H-E-B Grocery Company, will work at VP of Manufacturing at Freshpet. He has 25 years of experience in manufacturing and operations in companies for consumer goods.

Nishu Patel will take the position as VP of Corporate Controller. For 15 years, she was responsible for financial statement auditing at consultancy company Ernst & Young. In particular, she is very sophisticated in SEC reporting specifications, IPO, acquisition, joint venture and many more.

According to CEO Billy Cyr, the new appointments “will significantly impact the business and help to support our operational momentum.” At the end of 2022, Freshpet achieved a 39.9% increase in sales, compared to $425.5 million (€402M) in 2021.

These changes in management go along with the company’s Operational Improvement Plan aiming to improve quality, logistics, expansion, and fill rates. Furthermore, a little fight with one of the company’s stakeholders, JANA Partners, preceded the appointments.
