The European industry association Fediaf held its annual congress and general meeting in Warsaw, attended by over 100 members and guests from 15 trade associations across 18 European countries. The event highlighted the importance of protecting key pet food ingredients, including feed additives, which are vital for the nutrition of 352 million pets in Europe. Fediaf president Rosa Carbonell and secretary general Sonia Franck welcomed attendees, followed by insights from Polish Veterinary Inspectorate representatives on improving the authorisation process. Additionally, Paola Ferraro from the European Commission and Jörg Seifert from Fefana discussed risk management and the future of the re-authorisation process, while EFSA representatives provided information on submission and renewal procedures. A Q&A session, moderated by Matt Elliot of Mars Petcare Europe, allowed for in-depth discussions on these topics.
