In order to strengthen its position in Europe, UK-based Butternut Box, a fresh dog food brand established in 2016, has aquired Poland-based dog food company PsiBufet.
Butternut Box currently serves dogs in the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands, and Belgium and now intends to expand into Central and Eastern Europe using Poland as operations centre.
Butternut Box‘ co-founder, David Nolan, said, “We are pleased that together we will be able to take care of dogs’ health and happiness in Poland and all over Europe. We’re really excited about continuing to serve customers the best quality fresh dog food in the Polish market.”
So far, PsiBufet has focused on individually specialised fresh dog food. Now, the customers can choose their pet food out of a bigger range and benefit from better online access. Both companies are eager to develop more complete, high-quality, and concerted meals.
PsiBufet’s primary offering includes individually tailored fresh food for dogs. With this acquisition, its customers will enjoy better quality fresh food, a wider range of products, and a more advanced online customer experience.
Piotr Wawrysiuk, founder and CEO of PsiBufet, explained, “Butternut Box has been supporting us for over 3 years. It is not only a capital investment but, above all, a strategic one, sharing their knowledge and experience. Our companies share a common organizational culture and, above all, a mission: to provide health and happiness to dogs and their humans all over the world.”
”We are delighted that PsiBufet and Butternut Box have become one team. We have been actively supporting PsiBufet’s journey for several years and are extremely impressed with the progress they have made,” added David Nolan.
Butternut Box has recently received B Corporation certificate. Over the past years, the pet business has obtained more than £100 million in capital from different investors, including Literacy Capital, Passion Capital, L Catterton, HSBC, White Star Capital, Claret Capital, and Five Seasons Ventures.
