Austria’s pet population is on the rise, with nearly half of households owning at least one pet, according to the latest survey by the Austrian Pet Food Association (ÖHTV) and the Austrian Pet Trade/WKO. While the number of dogs remains steady, cats have seen a slight increase, reaching over 2 million. Moreover, there’s a notable trend of pets living longer, with a growing proportion of dogs and cats surpassing ten years of age. ÖHTV member companies are credited with contributing to this trend by offering high-quality pet food products that support pets’ long and healthy lives.
