New Study Confirms Gut Health Benefits of PEKILO®Pet Mycoprotein in Dogs

A study by Brazil’s Federal University of Paraná (UFPR) found that Enifer’s PEKILO®Pet mycoprotein is highly digestible and beneficial for dogs’ gut health. Even at low inclusion levels (4%), PEKILO®Pet increased beneficial gut bacteria and reduced harmful bacteria, improving digestion, immune function, and nutrient absorption. The highest inclusion level (20%) showed protein digestibility of 83.9%. Produced through upcycled agricultural byproducts, PEKILO®Pet is sustainable, with lower greenhouse gas emissions compared to imported soy. This study highlights its potential as a nutrient-rich, eco-friendly pet food ingredient.
