Scholtus Group, a Netherlands-based pet nutrition company, has expanded its global production capabilities by acquiring U.S.-based Big Creek Foods through its subsidiary, Schlotus Petcare. This acquisition adds Big Creek Foods’ Gainesville, Florida, facility to Scholtus’ network, allowing the company to broaden its product offerings, including air-dried and semi-moist pet treats. Scholtus MD Jan Smulders emphasized that this move will accelerate product innovation and distribution expansion in the U.S. and Europe. Meanwhile, Big Creek Foods CEO Tommy Gay highlighted the investment in new production technology, enhancing the company’s ability to serve a wider client base with an expanded portfolio.
