From 15 to 17 August the China International Companion Animal Food Ingredients Conference (CAFIC) took place in Suzhou. Over 400 Chinese pet food experts from 50 pet food manufacturers attended the conerence organized by LAMB Consultancy Co. Ltd in connection with the Companion Animal Food Equipment Conference (CAFEC). LAMB Consultancy forecasts that China’s pet economy will be worth over 240 billion yuan ($33.49 billion USD) by 2025.
The conference especially covers issues on functional ingredients which contribute to pet health and becomes more popular in China too. At CAFIC, 41 presentations were held talkng about the functional ingredients and the best usage.
Some of the presenters were pet food experts from Kerunde, Zhengchang Pet Food Engineering, Shugao Mechnical and Electric, Baojia Intelligent and Blue Ocean Technology who presented manufacturing equipment for automation, coating, griding, fresh meat manufacturing, extrusion, ingredient handling, packaging and many others.
At the CAFIC, Yulong Yin, Ph.D. awarded the “2022 Hexa-I Award of Chinese Pet Food Industry” honouring producers that pay attention to ingredient control, supply chain management and quality.
The next CAFIC and CAFEC will be held from 16 to 18 May 2023 in Suzhou.
