Naturaw Pet Food, a prominent raw pet food producer in the UK, has received six-figure funding from the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund II (NPIF II), facilitated by Mercia Debt Finance, to support its growth. The funds will be used to outfit a new 15,000-square-foot facility at Wetherby’s Thorp Arch Estate, doubling the company’s production space. Founder Jess Warneken, inspired by her dog Louis’s health transformation on a raw diet, established Naturaw in 2014. The company has doubled capacity every two years and expanded its workforce from 18 to 35 employees in 18 months. Naturaw, a B Corp and recipient of the King’s Award for Enterprise, offers over 20 recipes, produced sustainably with plastic-free packaging, at its Wetherby site.
