Alimentos Prosalud (APS), a Latin American seafood processing company, has expanded into the pet food sector with a newly launched production facility in El Roble, Puntarenas, Costa Rica. The $10 million plant spans 2,600 square meters and produces 500,000 canned pet food units daily, adhering to international quality and safety standards. APS introduced its premium wet pet food brand, Vital Nutrition, formulated with input from animal nutritionists and industry experts to meet growing consumer demand. The facility supports over 1,500 direct jobs and 5,000 indirect positions, strengthening the local economy. By leveraging Costa Rica’s fishing industry and optimizing sustainability efforts, APS aims to expand its global reach, particularly in North America and Europe.
