ADM has inaugurated its first wet pet food manufacturing plant in Mexico, expanding its operations in Yecapixtla, Morelos, following a $39 million investment. Previously reliant on imports from France, ADM now aims to meet at least 50% of the country’s wet pet food demand with local production by the end of 2025. The company, already the third-largest pet food player in Mexico, expects this expansion to bolster its position in the growing wet food segment. Rising consumer interest in pet nutrition and the convenience of single-serve pouches are driving demand in Mexico ahead of other Latin American markets. By strengthening its local production capabilities, ADM is reducing import dependency and positioning itself more competitively in the region.
