Maxi Zoo France is accelerating its growth in 2025, with plans to open 65 new stores and hire over 300 permanent employees, following 50 store openings in 2024. Managing Director Jan Wejbrandt emphasized the company’s commitment to making pet retail more accessible, ensuring that every pet owner in France can reach a store within 20 minutes. The retailer is also expanding its services by introducing telemedicine through Maxi Zoo Vet, allowing pet owners to consult veterinarians via video calls, and launching pet insurance in partnership with Pinnacle Pet Group, addressing the low percentage of insured pets in France. Additionally, Maxi Zoo is strengthening its omnichannel strategy, introducing in-store grooming services, and broadening its product offerings for puppies and kittens. Despite inflationary pressures, the company remains focused on maintaining competitive pricing without compromising product quality.
